  • One hundred institutions have already joined PADICAT

    The Biblioteca de Catalunya (National Library of Catalonia), has reached a collaboration agreement with the famous theatre company “El Tricicle”, for which this company joins the PADICAT project (Digital Heritage of Catalonia). This is the 100th institution to join the group of companies, public administrations, professional associations and other associations from any kind, that have joined the project since last September 11th.

  • The BC joins the International Internet Preservation Consortium

    The Biblioteca de Catalunya (National Library of Catalonia), has become a member of the International Internet Preservation Consortium, created in 2003 and dedicated to the digital preservation, that is, to the maintenance of the contents of web pages once these have been updated or just disappeared. Thus, the membership institutions of the IIPC ensure the permanence of the digital production in their own territorial areas.

  • The elections of 2006, at PADICAT

    The web of the Padicat project (Digital Heritage of Catalonia), supported by the Biblioteca de Catalunya (National Library of Catalonia), has added to its collection a large digital compilation on the last elections to the Parliament of Catalonia, which took place on November 1, 2006.

  • Cooperation agreement between the Biblioteca de Catalunya and fundació puntCAT, for the preservation of web pages, has been signed

    The Biblioteca de Catalunya signed the cooperation agreement with the Fundació puntCAT, on November 10th, 2006, to include the .CAT internet domains into the Digital Heritage of Catalonia (PADICAT). The agreement was signed in the presence of Dolors Lamarca, BC’s Director, and the president of the Fundació puntCAT, Joan Francesc Gras.

  • The Launch of PADICAT

    The Patrimoni Digital de Catalunya, PADICAT (Digital Heritage of Catalonia), has been launched in the Sala de Llevant in the Biblioteca de Catalunya building. The act took place in the presence of Dolors Lamarca, BC’s Director, and the secretary of Telecomunicacions i Societat de la Informació del Departament de la Presidència, Marta Continente, the project’s manager, Ciro Llueca, CBUC’s Director Lluís Anglada, and CESCA’s Director, Miquel Huguet.

    Coinciding with the National day of Catalonia, the server Patrimoni Digital de Catalunya, PADICAT (Digital Heritage of Catalonia), has been initiated, a new repository destined to collect and preserve the entire cultural, scientific and general output of Catalonia in digital format.
